Putting turbo a 97 mitsubishi eclipse rs?

ok i have a 1997 eclipse rs i payed 700 dollars for it had a blow head gasket that is now fixed i am wanting to put a turbo on it i can get a full new 420a Turbo kit for 600 dollars and my brother which is a master mechanic will install it for free now what i was wondering was is it a good idea to turbo it i hear that they don't work then i hear that that work great AND DO NOT SAY "just sell it and buy a gst or gsx or do a 6 bolt swap) cause im not i just want to know what are the pros's and con's of turboing a rs 420a eclipse
